One $1,000 award will be granted to a returning student in their first undergraduate degree program, who is in the Faculty of Business program and is in the greatest financial need. A second $1,000 award will be granted to a returning student in their first undergraduate degree program, who is in a health sciences related program - such as, but not limited to, Nursing, Paramedicine, Foods and Nutrition, and Kinesiology - and is in the greatest financial need.

This scholarship will be granted to two students, one in the third year of study and one in the fourth year of study in the Faculty of Business in the accounting specialization program who intends to pursue a CPA designation. The scholarships will be awarded to students who demonstrate a passion for the subject, a strong academic work ethic, and financial need.

Granted on an annual basis each fall and winter to two students who have been accepted into the UPEI Faculty of Business Case Competition Class and will participate in a case competition in the second semester of the current academic year.

Granted to a Faculty of Business student participating in UPEI's Co-operative Education program who demonstrates the qualities Angela Campbell was guided by: integrity, loyalty, and understanding the value and importance of diversity and inclusion.

Granted to a DVM student graduating from AVC who embodied principles of mental health stewardship and advocacy within their class, is recognized for their work in bettering the class's overall wellbeing, and has been a champion for mental health awareness within the AVC community.

Granted to a returning Academic All-Canadian student athlete in their first undergraduate studies program who displays a positive attitude and the qualities of leadership and mentorship that Barb exhibited throughout her university career in education. The recipient will informally mentor a first year athlete. Preference will be given to a female varsity athlete.

Granted to two (2) students studying in the Master of Arts in Island Studies (MAIS) program who have completed at least four of the core MAIS courses, are not full-time employees at UPEI, or will not be receiving other scholarships in excess of $2,000 at the time of application.Preference will be given to students in the thesis-based Master of Arts, Island Studies program. Gold Award minimum $1,400 and Silver Award minimum $800.

Granted to five students enrolled in a Bachelor or Graduate degree program at UPEI who will study abroad as part of their UPEI education. Students will need to provide documentation that confirms their plan to study abroad, said documentation to be defined by UPEI requirements. Student recipients will provide a synopsis of their experience upon their return, which will be shared with BMO Financial Group.

Granted annually to a student in their fourth year of the UPEI Foods and Nutrition program who excels academically and has volunteered in the industry or with CAFP.

Granted to a student who is a B.Ed or B.Ed (FLS) International or Indigenous Focus student, will travel as a component of the program, and is in financial need. Applicants will provide no more than two pages demonstrating how they currently have tried to meet their financial challenges in terms of their travelling budget. If there are two or more equally qualifying candidates, the greatest financial need will be the deciding factor.

Granted to a graduating English Major or Honors student with a minimum average of 80% in their last year of study who has contributed significantly to the intellectual and social life of the English Department.

Awarded to a full-time student who has or intends to participate in the Men's varsity soccer program at UPEI. The award will be granted to a student who displays academic achievement, a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a passion for the game of soccer with first preference to a student who attended Charlottetown Rural High School for their secondary education, or second preference for a student who attended a Prince Edward Island high school for their secondary education.

Beginning in the spring of 2022, this award will be granted to a student in their fourth year of the DVM program who has demonstrated perseverance and resilience under difficult circumstances. The recipient each year will be recommended by the AVC Awards Committee and approved by the Senate Committee on Scholarships and Awards.

Beginning in May 2020 the Community Forward Award will be granted to a second or third year student who, in a formal or informal leadership role, has devoted significant time and energy to improving campus life through their work with a student, club or society, project, campaign, or other campus community initiatives. Preference will be given to out-of-province students who identify as women.

Granted to a student who is entering the B.Ed program at UPEI. Selection of the successful candidate will be based on academic standing from the student's first degree, demonstrated leadership abilities, a passion for learning, and a commitment to community service as outlined in the application. Preference will be given to a student who graduated from a PEI high school.

Presented annually to a member of a UPEI varsity team who demonstrates outstanding preparation, work ethic, and teamwork; preference will be given to a member of the Women's Basketball team.

Granted to one member of the UPEI Men's Hockey team and one member of the UPEI Women's Hockey team.

Granted to a Business Administration student who has already completed one or more work terms in the Co-operative Education Program and intends to return to the UPEI Business Administration Program in the next academic year. The successful recipient will have demonstrated commitment to the program and excellence in the areas of work, academia and community service. In the result of two equally qualifying candidates, the award will be granted to the student in greatest financial need.

Granted on an annual basis to a student graduating from the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) who has shown extraordinary care and compassion for companion animals.

Granted to an exceptional student of sociology or anthropology graduating from UPEI who, in his or her time at the institution, displayed academic excellence as well as contributed to the university community through volunteer, extra-curricular or other activities. If there are two or more equally qualifying candidates, preference will be given to a student who will be (1) pursuing continued studies in the field of sociology or anthropology or (2) pursuing continued studies in another field.

Beginning in the Fall of 2020, the Drs. Larry Hammell & Norma Guy Awards will be granted to five (5) graduate students in a thesis based program who are in financial need (http://files.askalumni.teremorris.com/scholarships/financial_need_form_graduate.pdf). Students must be within three years of commencing their Masters degree or within five years of commencing their Doctoral degree and be registered as a full time graduate student. Applicants will submit no more than one page outlining their area of greatest need. Preference will be given to graduate students who are the sole caregiver in their family unit. Additional criteria may be added if required. Recipients will be recommended by the Graduate Studies Advisory Committee and approved by the Senate Committee on Scholarships and Awards. The donor will not participate in the recommendation process. Granting of these awards will not reduce any other supports the graduate student may receive.

Granted to a returning full time undergraduate student who is enrolled in the Applied Human Sciences program at UPEI and has shown extraordinary interest in the nutritional needs and care of seniors. The successful recipient will be recommended by the Chair of the Department of Applied Human Sciences in consultation with faculty.

One award (minimum $1,000) will be granted to a M.Ed or PhD student completing a thesis with an Indigenous theme. If there a no qualifying candidates, the award will be granted to a B.Ed student with an interest in the area.

Two awards (minimum $500 each) will be granted to students in the B.Ed, M.Ed or PhD in Education program that is in the greatest financial need.

Two scholarships (minimum $500 each) will be granted to a student in the B.Ed (English) and a student in the B.Ed (French) programs that have demonstrated excellence in course work.

Two (2) scholarships will be granted to students graduating from the two year Accelerated BScN program or the four year BScN program who have completed NURS 3230 (Partnerships with Clients and Families Living with Chronic Illness) and demonstrated particular clinical competence in acute mental health and medical surgery nursing.

Two (2) awards will be granted to students graduating from the two year Accelerated BScN program or the four year BScN program who have completed NURS 4010 (Nursing and Population Health) and have demonstrated competence and collaboration in working with a population-based approach.

Granted to an Indigenous student entering their first year of the Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering four year program. If there are no students who meet this criteria, the award may be granted to an Indigenous student who is entering their second, third or fourth year of the program. If there are two or more equalling qualifying students, the student in the greatest financial need will receive the award.

Granted to a student entering UPEI from a Prince Edward Island high school that is located in a rural community, based on the greatest financial need.

Awarded to a student undertaking thesis research that proposes to focus on, singly or comparatively, one or more islands that are not in Canada. Students are eligible for these scholarships if they have completed at least three (3) of the core MAIS courses, and are not a full time UPEI employee or in receipt of any other major donor funded scholarship at the time of application. Preference will be given to students in the thesis-based Master of Arts, Island Studies program.

Awarded to current Master of Business Administration students at UPEI based on award application criteria, which may include good academic standing; professional statement and/or resume; and financial need.

Granted to a student entering the second year of the Accelerated Nursing program at UPEI and is in the greatest financial need. Preference will be given to a student who is normally resident in Prince Edward Island.

Granted to a full time student entering UPEI into an undergraduate degree or pursuing an articulated program (college + university)

Granted to students entering the UPEI Faculty of Education B.Ed. program who are in financial need and have demonstrated good academic standing during their most recent university education.

Three awards will be offered to Canadian students enrolled in the DVM program at AVC, each of which will be valued at approximately $1,500. The students will be selected by the small animal medicine and surgery faculty and professional associates based on both academic achievement and practical skills who are not receiving other substantial awards. Two awards will be granted to third year students and will be presented at the annual AVC Fall Recognition Night. One award will be granted to a fourth year student and presented at the AVC White Coat & Awards Ceremony.

Awarded to a student entering UPEI's MBA program and based on academic record, professional accomplishments, demonstrated leadership ability, and potential interview.

Granted on an annual basis to a student who is enrolled and in good standing in the Master of Science - Residency in Cardiology program in the Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edward Island. The successful candidate must have provided evidence of a promising career in veterinary cardiology with an interest in mitral heart valve disease and congestive heart failure. While recipients can receive this scholarship more than once, it is the donors' preference to distribute the scholarship to a wider variety of students when possible.

Granted to a student who is pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree, is normally residing in Canada, completed their previous ten years of study in a Canadian educational facility, and who is in the greatest financial need.

Granted to a student who has completed their final year of the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Program at the University of Prince Edward Island who has maintained a focus on nutrition as a cornerstone of veterinary medicine and the 5th vital assessment. They have demonstrated keen knowledge and application of small animal clinical nutrition upon completion of the third year elective: VCA 3522 Clinical Nutrition in Small Animal General Practice.

Granted to an AVC student completing their final year of the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Program at the University of Prince Edward Island who has demonstrated compassion, charity, and a focus on the human-animal bond within the program and community.

Beginning in 2019/2020, fund will support scholarships for Nursing students who will have an international placement as part of their UPEI nursing education and who will be traveling to a high performing educational or medical institution as well as to remote or emerging societies to inform their nursing education.

Granted to a student currently registered at UPEI who has had an abstract for an oral or poster presentation accepted at that year's International Congress of the International Society for Applied Ethology. The scholarship is to support costs associated with attendance at the Congress to enable the student to present their work on applied animal ethology and animal welfare. It will not normally be awarded to the same student more than once.

Granted each year to a graduate student who demonstrates excellence, financial need, and strong potential for a career in aquatic food animal health, and a graduate student who demonstrates excellence, financial need, and strong potential for a career in dairy or bovine health.

Granted on an annual basis to a student graduating from the DVM program at the Atlantic Veterinary College who has a demonstrated interest in large animal practice and dairy herd health and has shown extraordinary care and compassion for large animals.

Granted annually to an international student entering undergraduate studies at UPEI for their first degree. Preference will be given to a student entering UPEI from Nigeria.

Granted to a deserving student entering the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) who completed all prerequisite courses for admittance to AVC at an Atlantic Canada university and their secondary education at a Prince Edward Island high school. If there is more than one qualifying candidate, preference will be given to the student exhibiting academic achievement and a deep commitment and love for animals.

Granted to a student in the Master in Global Affairs program who is in the greatest financial need. Financial need will include estimated travel and related costs to be incurred as a requirement of the program.

These renewable scholarships are granted to two UPEI students entering Year 2 of any four-year undergraduate degree program. Recipients must meet the following criteria: - Be Canadian citizens enrolled in full time studies of Year 2 of their degree - Demonstrate financial need (as determined through review of their application) - Have a cumulative average of at least 70% in Year 1 of their studies, and maintain a cumulative average of at least 70% in all subsequent years for the award to be renewed (for a maximum of three years of funding: Year 2, Year 3, and Year 4 of full time study).

Granted to a student who has entered their fourth year of study in the UPEI Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering. The successful candidate will be in good academic standing and have an interest in pursuing a career on Prince Edward Island. Preference will be given to a student in financial need.

Granted to a student in their final year of the BSc Paramedicine program, who maintained an average of 80% or greater in the previous year of study and is in the greatest financial need.

Awarded based on applicant's academic record to date in the MBA-GL program and leadership inside and outside the classroom, applicant's scholarship essay, and, in some cases, an interview. Preference will be given to candidates who have not received employer support and/or other graduate student awards that, combined, exceed 50% of the Program's tuition and fees.

Granted to the graduating Bachelor of Business Administration student with the highest aggregate in the last 20 three semester-hour courses.

Granted to a minimum of three students (domestic and international students) who are enrolled in a residency program at AVC specializing in an area that will benefit companion animals.

Granted to five students involved with New Student Orientation at UPEI: award categories include Most Outstanding Leader, as well as individual awards for School Spirit, Care of Others, Leadership, and Attendance.

Beginning in the Fall of 2020, the Paramedic Association of PEI Award will be granted annually to a full time student enrolled in the UPEI BSc in Paramedicine program who is in the greatest financial need. Preference will be given to students who are members of the Paramedic Association of PEI.

Granted to a third or fourth year full time undergraduate student enrolled in the Faculty of Business at UPEI who best exemplifies the spirit and legacy of Suzanne MacPherson. If there are two or more equally qualifying candidates, the student in the greatest financial need will be the recipient of this scholarship.

Granted each year to a student entering the B.Ed program who is in financial need; recipient must have attended a Prince Edward Island high school in their secondary education years.

Awarded to a student graduating from the Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Design Engineering who is an inspiration to classmates; demonstrates academic excellence and exceptional engagement in project-based design; and has shown the highest ethical standards as demonstrated by Professor MacEwen over his many years of outstanding teaching and engineering practice.

Two scholarships will be awarded each year to graduate students entering UPEI's MAIS program who have demonstrated excellence and will have a directed thesis topic that will benefit the economic future of Prince Edward Island. Selection criteria will be as follows: academic record, professional contributions, and demonstrated ability in the area of study.

Granted to a returning student who has volunteered in the university or broader community and loves music and animals. Preference will be given to a student who demonstrates a history of enriching the UPEI campus through activities and volunteerism.

Granted to a student in their second year of study in the Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering program who is registered with UPEI Accessibility Services (mental health support) and is in financial need. If there are no qualifying Engineering candidates, a student in one of UPEI?s STEM programs will be selected. If there are two equally qualifying candidates, preference will be given to a woman student. This award will be renewable for the successful recipient?s third and fourth year of study.

Granted to ten (10) students entering their first year of UPEI's School of Climate Change and Adaptation who have achieved an 80% or greater academic average in the previous year of study and have demonstrated a passion for improving the effects of climate change.

Beginning in the fall of 2020, the Rotary Club of Charlottetown Foundation Doris Bradley Awards will be granted to two students with a documented disability who has overcome barriers in their educational pursuits and has demonstrated leadership or volunteerism/community service. If there is only one qualifying recipient, the student will receive $2,000, the full value of both awards. Further criteria may be determined if required.

Granted to a returning UPEI student in their first undergraduate degree program who has achieved good academic standing and is in financial need; the donor's intent of this scholarship is to award a student who needs financial help to remain in university.

Granted annually to five students who are entering the Bachelor of Integrated Studies Program (BIS) in the Fall semester (September) at UPEI and are in the greatest financial need

Granted annually to a student in any year of study who self-identifies as an Indigenous student, is in full-time undergraduate studies, and is positively and actively involved with Indigenous students on campus and/or in the community. The recipient must have a good academic record that reflects perseverance in their studies and demonstrates leadership qualities.

Granted each year to a student who is graduating from the four year Nursing program or the Accelerated Nursing program at UPEI, attended their full secondary education at a Prince Edward Island High School, and has demonstrated an extraordinary sense of compassion and dedication to the profession of nursing. Academic achievement will not be a defining criterion.

Granted on an annual basis to a student entering the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) who is normally a resident in the Atlantic Provinces and has a demonstrated interest and experience with horses. Preference will be given to students focused on the horse racing industry. If there are two or more equally qualifying candidates, preference will be given to a student who is normally resident in Prince Edward Island.

Granted to an academically deserving student entering their first year of study in a major program in the School of Mathematical and Computation Sciences who is in greatest financial need and not in receipt of another major donor funded award or scholarship.

Granted to an academically deserving student entering the second, third, or fourth year of study in a major program in the School of Mathematical and Computational Sciences who is in greatest financial need and not in receipt of another major donor funded award or scholarship. Preference will be given to a student who identifies as a woman.

Beginning in the fall of 2021, the Tracey J. Hubley Scholarship will be granted to a student entering their third or fourth year of study in an undergraduate program, with a strong appreciation for the power of public policy to make positive community change, who has combined their academic studies and/or varsity sports with a passion for serving their community. This scholarship is available to students in any faculty that offers undergraduate degree programs. Applicants will provide a statement demonstrating how they meet the criteria. The recipient will not be in receipt of another donor-funded award in excess of $1,000.

Granted annually to a UPEI student who is graduating from their first bachelor degree program. The successful recipient will have demonstrated a high level of school spirit and campus community involvement. Applicants will need to provide a letter of reference from a member of faculty or staff at UPEI confirming the applicant's involvement in the university community and contribution to school spirit.

Granted to a student in the second year of the Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) Program at UPEI who has made an extra effort to maintain and promote balanced healthy living, and who, in the process, sets an example of community leadership.

Awarded to a student currently registered in a master's program, who has completed one academic year of full time equivalent master's study; based upon academic achievement and scholarly promise.

Granted to International students entering UPEI from a Prince Edward Island high school who have experienced unexpected hardship (e.g., economic, financial, political, societal, family or personal events beyond the student's control) in the past year that has greatly impacted their personal circumstances and capacity to study at the University. Eligible candidates must be students who: a) are graduates of PEI high schools; b) do not qualify for Canadian Permanent Resident status; and c) are from war zones as defined by the University based on internationally recognized lists of war-torn countries (i.e., United Nations, Global Affairs). The scholarship is renewable over students second, third, and fourth year of study provided they remain in good academic throughout their studies while carrying a minimum full-time course load of 18 semester hours over the academic year (September to May). Typically, this corresponds to a minimum of 3 courses (9 semester hours of credit) in each semester (Fall and Winter). The intention of the scholarship is to offset international fees for eligible students in good academic standing pursuing full-time studies. All student information provided in applications will remain strictly confidential and recipients of this scholarship will not be publicized or promoted in any manner.

Granted to a returning UPEI student in any level of full-time study who has demonstrated extraordinary involvement in extracurricular activities across campus, within UPEI student societies, and through athletics and/or other events. Academic achievement will not be a defining factor. Employees and elected officials of the UPEI Student Union do not qualify.

Granted annually to the graduate student in Nursing who is in highest standing at the time of graduation. Based automatically on academic grades.

Beginning in fall 2023, the Walker Wood Foundation Renewable AVC Scholarship will be granted to a student entering the DVM program at the Atlantic Veterinary College. The successful candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada who is normally resident in Atlantic Canada, have a demonstrated financial need, and have a strong academic record in their previous degree. Preference will be given to students who have been involved in extracurricular activities (i.e., community participation, leadership qualities, and/or the performing arts), and have an interest in pursuing bovine, pathology, wildlife or aquatic veterinary medicine. This scholarship is renewable for a maximum of four years (including the entrance year). If for any reason the successful candidate should discontinue studies in the DVM program at the Atlantic Veterinary College at UPEI, and therefore loose eligibility for renewal of this scholarship, another candidate entering the same year of study that the original recipient would have been entering in the program will be chosen.
